Position Overview: 
SENIOR TOOLS ENGINEER 

Job Description 
The Tools Engineer (Senior Staff Engineer) will be responsible for the
evaluation, creation, and maintenance of development tools for the developer
community (250+ engineers). Working closely with the device driver, OS, and
application teams, will be responsible for all technical issues relating to
development tools, including: compilers, linkers, make files, IDE
development and maintenance, image construction and loading, SDK
development, source control processes and various development utilities.
Good communication skills are essential 

Minimum Required Education: 
BS/MSCS or equivalent experience required 

Skills Required / Minimum years of Experience: 
5+ years experience with: 
Linux, Shell Scripting, GNU tools, C language and Development Tools
(compilers, linkers, make files) 

Preferred Skills / Minimum years of Experience: 
10+ years overall related experience 
Telelogic CM Synergy or equivalent Configuration Management System 
Sparc and MIPS architecture and assembly language. 
Experience and understanding of the Open Source based development and
deployment 
Eclipse Experience 
C++ and/or Java language. 
Microsoft Windows programming 
GDB, JTAG debugging 
Knowledge of the PowerTV OS 
Digital cable/terrestrial TV industry standards
