I don't know anything about Scottsdale hotspots so I cannot answer about
music or beverage quality.  I just know that the Refresh Phoenix group
(http://www.refreshphoenix.org/) likes to meet at Inza Coffee
(http://www.inzacoffee.com/) on Shea near the 101.  Others on this list
could probably fill in additional details.
