Under Windows I use SUPER (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html) to 
convert youtube flv clips into 3g2 format for my phone.  SUPER does may 
other formats as well.  I may do what you need.  Hopefully someone will 
name a similar Linux tool.
