LAN CARD for FreeBSD

My main system is Kubuntu. I put together a FreeNAS box and I am having
a rather odd issue. After a few minutes of sending data to the server
the NIC card somehow disconnects and goes brain-dead. Ifconfig shows it
is still connected but it isn't. Have to go in and reassign the
interface and have it grab a IP again. I figured that the card is going
postal. I could be wrong, but it is a easy attempt. I tried TRENDNET
card and it was not recognized AT ALL. SOOoo.... I guess I'll give a
linksys a shot.

Terse? Which is easier? Get to the point or... the above.
