You are not wrong, but, the thread made a natural progression.  It went:

- - Is there a co-lo facility that anyone wants to share in?
- - Yes, there are co-lo facilities
- - That's nice but I want to know if there is a group of people that want
to share the expenses of a co-lo.
- - Oh, I see.  epfarms.org is a co-op hosting that already does that sort
of thing.

As I see it, the original desire was to get a few people to pool
together the cost of a single co-lo box.  epfarms.org was presented as a
pool of many people, strangers even, who pool hosting costs.
