Scanner Recommendations

I've gotten several HP all in one fax / printer / copier / scanner and
so far I've never been able to get the scanner to work with my linux
boxes. So now I'm just looking for a flat bed scanner doesn't need to be
all that fast but has to be *very* clear. I think I'd prefer if it was a
USB scanner. Other than that I don't have much of a feature list. It
would be nice if it was under $200.00. I'm going to look on the web but
thought I'd ask the collective first.
