it installed but the program won't open. Further, I couldn't kill the
process with kill, kill -9, kill -12, nor killall. I had to close the
emulator that I started it with to kill it. In fact, I just typed mc in
and it has been sitting for about a minute 

I'm late for thanksgiving dinner.... gotta go!
