midnight commander

Well, thanks for verifying that I was typing in the correct characters
to start mc (I was). I wondered about that when mc wouldn't start it.
I'm running a debian/uubuntu flavor on my computer at the moment. It
ios really mepis but it says durring boot that mepis is powered by
debian and uubuntu.
