Goodness, that email is hard to read!

For your connection troubles, you might check on the Firefox menu under
Edit, Prefereces. Then under General there should be something like
"Connection Settings" that controls whether Firefox assumes the Internet
is always connected, etc. I don't have 2.0 handy just now, so I can't
give you exact instructions.
