I use GAIM under Windows.

GAIM and Xchat are the ones I use under Linux.

Set:
Server - irc.freenode.net
Port - 6667 (usually don't have to set this since it is the default)
Channel - #plugaz

Sometimes the connection to the server takes a 10-20 seconds.  Use the
command "/join #plugaz" (no quotes) to get into the channel.
