External TV / Video Capture

I am in the shopping mode for an external video capture device for my laptop.
I don't prefer CardBus/USB, but just something that would let me view whatever 
I hook up to it with kdetv or something like that. Capturing would be nice as 
well, though I don't know how to do that unless I setup mythtv on my laptop. 
I don't forsee recording video as much as I just need to be able to see it.

So I don't necessarily need hardware encoding, but decent support. Anyone have 
experience with this or recommend anything? I would prefer less than $100 
bucks...
