I just used https://www.wellsfargo.com from Firefox on Linux.  I have
been doing so for a long time.  My user agent is set to the default:
"Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426
Firefox/1.5.0.3"    No problems at all.

I don't know why you would be having such problems.
