How to stop recurring "Welcome" email message in kmail?

Yes, do the following as root:

# cd /usr/share/mdk

# mv mail mail_sav


This is where the pesky 'Welcome...' is/are stored. Renaming the
directory will stop the messages from being recreated.

I had to do some archive searching to find this answer. I'm not a kmail
user.
