>From memory, the 5500 is nVidia's middle of the road part from two
generations ago.  The 6200 is nVidia's entry level part from last
generation.  nVidia's current generation is the 7k parts.  For what
it's worth, I am using a 6600 with Ubuntu and Xgl/Compiz work
incredibly well.
