As pointed out on slashdot[1], the RIAA contradicts these recent
statements on their own website[2].  Quote:

"If you choose to take your own CDs and make copies for yourself on your
computer or portable music player, that's great. It's your music and we

They see and know their control and form of business is becoming far
less profitable.  They continue to work on tightening their grip on the
"buggy whip" to their own long term detriment.

My family of 6 people purchases about 6 CDs a year.  Down from many more
years ago.  I find my music and entertainment elsewhere.
