Processor speed

I'm not much of a hardware guy ... I'm not sure about swapping CPU's. From the prior posts it seems you may have the AMD500 k6-2.  Maybe all you need is to bump up your RAM.  

How much RAM do you have now?

The Mobo/CPU have served me well.  Had an identical box that bit the dust about a month ago.  I think it was the power supply.

It will be several weeks though before I can part with it, if that is OK.

It's the Mobo and RAM ... I need to keep the HD's.
