How to save downloaded files using Knoppix?

Sounds as if the hard drive is NTFS format (Windows XP, Win2K or WinNT)
and writing to NTFS is not supported on Linux (though some
configurations may allow you, it is generally not a good idea if you
care about the files on the hard drive).
