How to install lilo to the MBR?

Joe, I presume you still have bootmagic installed.

I found some instructions for bootmagic here:

Never mind that it says redhat, it's lilo that's important for your 
situation.

When you go through the bootmagic installation, can you click on the 
Advanced box and get to the window as in Figure 3.2? If so, select your 
hda6, and follow the directions from there to make it the default.

Let us know how you make out.
