OT: What FS is the Windows XP recovery partition?

I used to buy WD, and about every 6 months they would just fail totally and
without warning.  I started buying maxtor and haven't had one fail yet.  They
have been replaced as they got too small, but no problems at all.  I don't
know anything about the recovery partition, so can't help there.
