Believe it or not, I have THREE passwords.  One is an "unimportant" one, 
the other two are "important" ones.  The unimportant one I use, for 
example, for my membership to gamasutra or for registration in whatever 
piece of obscure software, or even my AIM.  The other two are for the 
more serious stuff, and as someone else suggested, they mutate slightly 
from one service to the next, based on some pneumonic that I can find on 
that service.  They are all "good" passwords, two words misspelled with 
a character and maybe a number.
