This is probably the easiest. Using ethernet is the right way, that is what it
was made for. Then you can use ftp, smb, scp (putty on the einders side), etc.

Winder's supports multiple hardware config.s. You could probably setup a copy
of your current config. and change that config. to having a static IP.
