Cox question

I just had Cox highspeed installed bought a router which works fine on my roommates win 98 box but I have no idea how to get it working my box. I am running Suse 8.0 and my network card is a Compaq Comp. Corp. 623-LAN Grizzly can anyone point me in the right direction.
