Hi DL and Patrick,

As far as I am aware, in the default Mailman implementation, it is not
possibly to create a new list from scratch using the web interface.  Once
created, all management functions can be performed from the web, but the
newlist command (run as root) must be run in order to do the initial work,
and the specified output from that command must be added to /etc/aliases,
which must then be hashed...  This is usually accomplished with the newalias
utility...
