Ops I did pay enough attention. In that case I would do vGd 

v - starts visual mode from your current postion
G - goes to end of file (case is important)
d - delete. 

I guess you could use x for delete and a whole host of other things for
end of file. But this is what I remember best so its how I would have
done it.
