At work we are creating a new product line that provides an IDE host adap=
ter=20
to the system, along with a hard drive or two or a CD/DVD drive. We are=20
having some difficulty in the debug stage making it work smoothly with=20
various OSes. Since Linux is usually very good about finding and using=20
drivers for IDE/ATA devices we have never had to trouble shoot their=20
installation. Well, now we need to do some investigation.

What tools, even full blown apps, are available for probing available por=
ts=20
and devices on a PCI bus? I know about lspci but I have not found much e=
lse=20
in the way of HOWTOs or tools. Any pointers?
