Open Office question

For the life of me, i can't figure out how to setup chapter headers and
sub-chapter headers in OpenOffice/StarOffice...how can i set up
something like this:

1. Chapter Title
1.1 Sub-heading one
1.2 sub-heading two
2. Chapter title
2.1 sub-heading one
2.2 sub-heading two



I can only get the following:
1. Chapter title
 1. Sub-heading one
 2. Sub-heading two
2. Chapter title
 1. sub-heading one
 2. sub-heading two

Any ideas? And while I'm at it, any good printed books for
StarOffice/Open Office?
