performance question

prioritizes GUI events over pretty much everything else.  Linux doesn't...
GUI events are handled by the X Window System outside of the kernel.  So
mouse and window response time should be expected to be faster in Windows,
if both OS's are configured with the least number of services possible for
a more fair comparison.
