This is dangerous not only because the real intent of the Act is couched in a 
misleading title, but because it protects companies who choose not to protect 
themselves and forces technology companies to pay for it, thereby not only 
costing technology users more but also restricting the rights of every honest 
technology user.

If the technology exists for protecting digital content , why havent the 
copyright owners invested in it?  Why do they need to be protected by the 
government?  Why do electronic consumers and technology companies need to pay 
for the security and protection that the digital content copyright owners 
refuse to pay for?
