Disc == optical media
Disk == magnetic media

This is not only the accepted protocol but is the correct uses of the spelling.

p.s., Would y'all say it's an accepted protocol to use "disc" for optical
media (CDs, WORMs, laserdiscs) and "disk" for magnetic media (floppy
disks, hard disks)?
