Copy and paste in X

Which browser are you using? In Gnome (I believe this is a Gnome function) 
highlighting text puts it into the clipboard- middle mouse button-both if 
set to emulate in XF86Config- puts it where you select.
Konqueror has a nifty little button on the left of the address line that 
will kill the url, simply paste into the url line by middle clicking. 
Mozilla pops up a url window with Ctrl+ Shift + L or double left click the 
address line.. the address becomes highlighted, hit delete key, then 
middle mouse button.
