System will not boot

Al,

   I had the same problem, bought a 40GB WD HD and my old bios would not
recognize it.

   WD included with my HD a floppy with a new bios on it, I installed it
and when I boot my system now I get a screen that prompts me to hit CRTL
and then the new bios takes over and I boot with out any problems.
