Win98 Second Edition is pretty reasonable as
Microsoft stuff goes, but Win95 and Win98 1st edition
were really really really bad.  I use Win98SE for
all my Microsoft needs and will probably never move
to another MS platform.

I gather that Win2k users consider it also to be
pretty good, again considering the source.
Relatively friendly and quite stable.
