High-Speed Internet Access

I'm to the point where dial-up isn't cutting it anymore, and where I live I
have been promised by qwest that DSL will be available soon (over 18 months
now).  So I have two options that I am aware of: Satellite Two-Way or Cox
Internet.  I'm aware of the transition problems that Cox is having with
their service, so I would like to avoid those until they stabilize, so my
question is does anyone currently use Satellite and what their thoughts are
on it?
