I have to put in a good word for Glendale, which is just west of Phoenix.  
It's got lots of good areas and tends to be cheaper than the east valley.  We 
are also becoming a pro sports mecca with the Coyotes and Cardinals stadiums. 
 On the downside, most high-tech jobs are on the east side.  Also, we're 
helping pay for those new stadiums with our sales tax (grrr, grrr.)  But from 
a Canadian's perspective, the whole state is probably a low-tax haven.
