xhost question

X runs on port 6000 if you are denying incoming connections from the net 
interface then you *should* be all right.
Tables is way cool compared to chains. I finally forced myself to switch- 
well, ok, I compiled a new kernel and couldn't get chains working on it 
and that forced me to switch.
