PPP or SLIP obviously, but I also wonder if there is anything lighter-
weight; because a serial link is point-to-point and has only two ends, 
there's not much purpose in using IP addresses.  Each machine could
assume that any received packet is intended for him, without checking
the IP address.  So it should be possible to run TCP directly on the 
serial port.  I wonder if it is?
