Ask PLUG: best OS for wireless applications

I'm partial to the Lucent Wave LAN Gold Card (gold = 128bit encryption,
silver = 56bit) The Compaq Wireless card works with the Lucent but the Linux
drivers don't work yet, actually I believe that they will work I just need
to add the hardware info so the card is recognized as an 802.11b card. It
gives all indications that it will work. The Linux PCMCIA drivers see the
card but no driver is loaded, I can however query the PCMCIA slot and read
the card info.
