Read the entire article and you will find...

However, the author obviously does not understand open source as can be
seen here where he infers a cost is sometime needed to download the code...

It was created using what's known as "open
source" code, meaning anyone can
download it off the Internet, OFTEN FOR FREE,
experiment with it and customize it if they're
technically capable. They can also post
those modified versions back online for
anyone else to use.

Not a BAD article, just very shallow.
