'Ports' for all

Question:
--------
JLF was talking about something called 'open-ports' a new
project to bring the BSD ports system to other NIX platforms. Is there
a URL or a place to read more about it?

Search on google turned up all the wrong goodies, and sourceforge doesn't
seem to have an entry that I can find.

Giddy Excitement:
-----------------
There is a pre 1.0 gnu/linux distro called 'Gentoo Linux'
(http://www.gentoo.org) that offers an attempt (first?) at a ports collection
for linux.

It works great.

Really, this is not an overstatement. Having used, and loved, ports on
OpenBSD, I can say it's comparable.

It really is grand. I heartily recommend it.

Also if you're interested in developing and potentially playing a key role
in an up and coming distro, CVS access is just a few well done contributions
away.

Cheers,
Gontran
