Hi Dan:

In the Jan/Feb 01 issue of Maximum Linux, they had a feature article on
building a mobile mp3 player, complete with code and schematics.  The
magazine as well as the associated site have gone belly up since though.

This site has been put up by former Maximum Linux subscribers and might
be a good place to start looking:
