linux seems slow

I think it is really more of windows <b>SEEMS</b> fast.  mainly because
it preloads alot of stuff on boot.  Internet explorer is mostly running
all the time so when you start it it seems really fast to start.  I do
similar things in linux and start many of the programs I use regularly
minimized.  that way I just click on them and they start extreamly fast.
of course I don't think I would do that with staroffice yet although I
do do it with Netscape.
