Senior-moment question

I think I know what my problem is:
I have an ECP/EPP port on /dev/lp0
I have an add-on card that gives me (LPT2) /dev/lp1 at IRQ5.
How does one tell modprobe to probe /dev/lp1 rather than /dev/parport0 ?
