esd needs to be enabled, but I found it causes the midi players to complain
that the sequencer is busy. Apparently,
esd ties up the sequencer.

  Subject: WAV files

I have a question, I have my sound card installed and it went with out a
problem. The MIDI file I ran works and the test sound works from the driver
install. Yet the sounds for KDE's desktop are all wave (WAV) files and none
of them work when I use the test button. Is there something else I need to
install to run these files?

By the way I have RH 6.1.

  Thank You,
