Problems with Samba

I'm not sure what version of samba you have but I know that previous
versions have had the password verification set to use plain text like
windows 95 uses, windows 98 however uses encrypted passwords and requires
that you either turn on encryption on the samba server or make the windows
boxes use plain text (not advised). I know that when I was trying this I
would try to log in from my win98 box and it would give me errors, such as
incorrect login name/password.. I would also double check the
workgroup/domain that your samba server is on.

I haven't set samba up myself, but do have exp with setting up windows
boxes.
Is the samba server configured to be in the same workgroup as the Windows
boxes? If not, then that may explain why you can't see it.
