In response to part 2 of your email, don't believe the speed that
windows is showing your connecting at.  The 115 is what the port speed
is set at, not the connection speed.  That is one thing I saw too after
recieving flash rom updates to my USR modem about 6-7 months ago.  Ever
since, it doesn't report the correction speed.
