When we got the dsl line I ordered a small block of IPS for our network so I had a direct ip to to telnet to. I guess if you are just starting to set it up you wouldnt be able to telnet to it yet. But once you have the nat and dhcp working you could still tlenet to the only external ip you have.

It's been a while since I set it up but all i did was really just follow the manual. I just followed the instructions for dhcp and nat and it worked fine the first time.

I used Uswest for both the DSL line and the ISP services.
