Its official - freedom on the net is dying

The new precedence for being legally responsible for just linking to another
site containing the software is the most scary part. Copyleft was named
among the defendants for printing part of the code on a shirt (which I
purchased... 4or 5 bux goes to the deCSS legal team).

The deCSS legal team expected to loose this case and fully intended to take
it to the Supreme Court.

This whole thing is crazy. The funny thing is that deCSS isn't even used
anymore to rip DVD vob's....it fails on the new encryption schema's. Vobdec
is the new tool and it works  w/ mulitangle DVD angles as well. What do they
hope to accomplish? Do they think they can stop this kind of stuff from
being created and distributed? Virii is illegal to make and distribute but
how many new virii come out each month? It can't be stopped.
