I'm all over it.

I develop on FC6 and have production system running on CentOS-5

I had problems as noted running the top listed screencast but it's
pretty much just puff anyway. If you want to get off and running...there
is only one way, that is AWDWR (Agile Web Development With Rails) as
that is the ruby on rails bible. You might want to also do the double
purchase and get the 'pickaxe' book on Ruby at the same time (typically
you can buy both dead tree versions together at a discount) because Ruby
language references are very useful.

You can get immediate help from IRC (see the IRC info on the same rails
site you found the screencasts)

You can get excellent help from ruby on rails mail list (pretty high
traffic) hosted by
google...http://groups.google.com/group/rubyonrails-talk?hl=en

Integrum has monthly meetings in Mesa/Gilbert area - I'm sure they're
quite useful but I don't do Mesa.

Ruby group meets in North Scottsdale once a month which I think is this
coming Monday (James is very knowledgeable too)
http://www.rubyaz.org/groups/prug/

setup is mostly done for you already on Fedora 7 - but simple setup
instructions are easily googled (and undoubtedly covered on AWDWR)

of course you can ask this list too...I've been developing a pretty wide
reaching intranet application for a year and a half now and I think I
pretty much get it.
