under Development Group Meeting.)

Rob Wehrli will be presenting uClinux on Hitachi H8S. uClinux brings the=
=20
power of Linux to the embedded world. Your next toaster might be running=
=20
Linux! He will use the open source project to port uClinux to the Hitach=
i=20
H8S-2674R processor as a dicussion platform on the porting and debugging=20
process.

The "u" in uClinux is really the greek letter "mu" which stands for "micr=
o"=20
and the "C" indicates "controller." So, uClinux is "micro-controller Lin=
ux." =20
uClinux is a Linux port designed for operation on smaller processors in=20
embedded envronments where resourses such as memory and storage space are=
=20
much more restrictive than a desktop PC.

If you are an embedded systems developer or are curious about embedding L=
inux,=20
this is a presentation you will not want to miss. The rest of you PHP,=20
Python, XML, etc. guys are also welcome to come and see what "real"=20
programmers do.  ;^)

Pizza and soft drinks will be provided by Arizona Cooperative Power for o=
ur=20
consumption! Several door prizes, including programming books (even ones=
=20
about PHP) are on the block so don't forget to sign in and grab a ticket =
on=20
the way to the pizza.

About the speaker:

Rob Wehrli is the Director of Engineering at Arizona Cooperative Power in=
=20
Glendale, Arizona. Rob has many years of experience with Linux, and write=
s=20
numerous technical articles for various industry publications, and has=20
designed a number of exciting platforms including several Windows CE and=20
embedded Linux portables before taking on the "uClinux" port to the Hitac=
hi=20
H8S-2148 and H8S-2674R embedded micro-controllers.  He is scheduled to=20
deliver a presentation on a similar topic at the Embedded Systems Confere=
nce=20
in San Francisco later in April.=20
(http://cmp.iconvention.com/sf/v33/conference/session.cvn?eid=3D131)

His company provides consulting services for embedded (Linux, WinCE), des=
ktop=20
and client-server (Windows/UNIX) applications, system integration and=20
hardware and software design services for customers of many types.

He is actively seeking developers and contributors for the H8S-uClinux Po=
rt=20
project. Rob has several development boards to give away to developers w=
ho=20
