Are you sure you are using the right video connection on the back of the
computer? You might have 2 cards and the onboard might be disabled or
nonfunctional. If you only have one card and it is not onboard, you could
try reseating it in its slot (open up the case)
otherwise it sounds like you have a bad video card. Maybe you can find
another to put in the machine to test
